  3.     SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  5.     DOS 2.0+, WINDOWS 3.0+, 256KB memory, 100KB disk space
  6.     IBM compatible PC (8088, 8086+)

  9.     INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
  10.  
  11.     To install the program on your hard drive go to the floppy drive
  12.     (A or B) or directory that you are installing from. Then from the
  13.     DOS prompt (A:\>  or  B:\>) enter:
  14.  
  15.                               INSTALL
  16.  
  17.     If you have downloaded a zip file to a directory on your hard disk,
  18.     go to that directory, unzip the file and type INSTALL to run the
  19.     install procedure directly from that directory.
  20.  
  21.     To run the program on your hard disk, at the DOS prompt type:

  23.                        QT {and press Enter}
  24.  
  25.     or go to the subdirectory C:\QUICKTAX created by the install
  26.     procedure and type:
  27.  
  28.                        QUICKTAX {and press Enter}
  29.  
  30.     You may want to add C:\QUICKTAX to your PATH command to enable
  31.     access to QuickTax from any directory.

  34.     WINDOWS INSTALLATION

  36.     QuickTax also runs well under WINDOWS but you will have to install
  37.     manually AFTER doing the DOS installation.

  40.     WINDOWS 95 INSTALLATION
  41.  
  42.     AFTER doing the DOS installation, from START, click on Windows Explorer
  43.     in the Programs Menu. Find QuickTax in the QUICKTAX folder.
  44.     Create a Shortcut to the desired program by right clicking on it and
  45.     draging its icon to the Desktop. Release the right mouse button and
  46.     choose Create Shortcut Here from the menu that appears.

  49.     WINDOWS 3.1 INSTALLATION
  50.  
  51.     AFTER doing the DOS installation:
  52.  
  53.     Start Windows and from Program Manager:
  54.        > Open the Group in which you want to install QuickTax
  55.          (or first create a new Group from the Program Manager File menu)
  56.        > From the Program Manager File menu click New
  57.        > Click on Program Item option button
  58.        > In the Description box type: QUICKTAX
  59.        > In the Command Line box type: C:\QUICKTAX\QUICKTAX
  60.        > Specify the Working Directory: C:\QUICKTAX\DATA
  61.        > Click on Change Icon, select any icon and click on OK
  62.        > Click on OK to exit
  63.     You may now run QuickTax from either WINDOWS or DOS.

  66.     FLOPPY ONLY OPERATION

  68.     No installation is needed. Run the program directly from the
  69.     diskette. At the DOS prompt Enter QUICKTAX.
